The Canyon Lands segment extends between the junction of FR 504 and FR 169 near Chevelon Crossing and the intersection of FR 115 and FR 300 (Rim Road) on the Mogollon Rim. The alignment traverses piñon-juniper and ponderosa country atop the Rim, skirting side canyons that feed Chevelon Creek and East Leonard Canyon, with long views from Rim overlooks. Notable points of interest include Chevelon Crossing Campground and the Long Draw North OHV trailhead at the creek, plus a spur to Chevelon Canyon Lake via FR 169 and classic vistas along the Rim Road corridor.
This segment consists primarily of unpaved forest roads: FR 504 and FR 169 vary from graded dirt to rocky two-track near canyon rims, while FR 300 is generally well-graded when dry. Expect embedded rock, washboards, and short steep pitches; high-clearance is advisable, especially for the Chevelon Lake spur, though the main Rim Road is typically easier in good conditions.
